Going into the game at Sixways, City were hoping for all three points that would see them secure progress to the next stage of the FA Women’s National League Cup.

City, in their opening game, were beaten 2-0 away at Cheltenham Town, but in the second game, when City welcomed Kidderminster Harriers to Sixways, it was City that came away with a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Jessica Fassnidge and Carys Lowley.

It was Blues who had the game's first opportunity in the third minute, but the effort went wide of the post.

City had their effort two minutes later, Fassnidge, who made her 100th appearance today for City, had a shot after a cut back from Jenn Higgs; however, her shot just went over the bar.

Two minutes later, Keeley Crew hit the bar after a shot from the edge of the D.

City got the breakthrough a minute later, following an excellent press from Annie Sime, who forced the defender into a mistake, and Higgs was there to slot home into the bottom right-hand corner to score her first goal since coming back following a long-term injury.

In the 21st minute, the visitors found themselves level after a mix-up at the back was pounced upon.

Just after the half-hour mark, Blues had an effort directly from a free kick, but the effort wasn’t troubling Jodie Whiteman.

In the 39th minute, Blues took the lead after a shot flew past Whiteman in the City net.

Just after the restart, there was a pinball in the box after Blues played a corner in, but City managed to deal with the threat.

Ten minutes later, Keeley Crew cut inside from the left and unleashed a shot; however, the Blues' goalkeeper was equal to it.

Sime tried to do what she did last week, but from a bit further out, but her effort went over the bar.

Ten minutes from time, there was a chance for Laila Rich, after she got in behind after a great ball over the top, but the Blues' goalkeeper saved her effort.

Shortly after, Blues had a great chance themselves, but the shot hit the netting above the goal.

Captain and ever-present across the club, Jessica Fassnidge made her 100th appearance for City today.
