On Sunday, club captain Jessica Fassnidge reaches 100 appearances for Worcester City Women
Sixways hosts FA Women’s National League Cup action as City welcome Birmingham City PGA, where the skipper will reach 100 appearances for the club she loves.
The midfielder was at Worcester City Ladies before Nicole Allison took over the club in 2021; the club is now known as Worcester City Women, a separate, independent entity.
Jess was at Worcester United before that and also had spells at Redditch United and in the United States of America.
Jess tore her ACL in October 2020 in a Women’s FA Cup fixture and has held various roles across the club during her time here, including becoming the club's assistant coach in 2021 under then-City manager Jodie Williams.
Fass has been at Worcester City Women from the very start and led the club to a historic double in the 2023/2024 season as City were promoted to the FA Women's National League for the very first time in the club's history.

Speaking to Two On The Ball, wearing the captain's armband is not just a role, it’s something that she holds close to her heart, admitting that “It means the world”.
Jess also explained that with this role comes an overwhelming sense of pressure, which can take a heavy toll, especially after a difficult performance or training session.
“When we win, it’s the best feeling, but when things don’t go right, I carry it. I can’t help it; I care too much”.

Manager Matt Jones shared his tribute to our centurion:
“Knowing Jess ‘Fass’ as I do, which is a great privilege by the way, she will more than likely say that she is ‘just doing her job’ as she continually puts others ahead of herself.
So, Fass, today, take a personal moment to reflect on what you have achieved at this club in reaching your 100, and the many people you have inspired along the way. RISE”.

Everybody at Worcester City Women would like to congratulate Jess on this incredible milestone and thank her for what she has done for this club throughout her time here, and we hope to share some more memorable memories and milestones in the future.
