Worcester City Women FC is the only fully independent, female-owned, and self-sustaining club in women’s football - and we’re building something truly different.
On the pitch, we have a clear but realistic ambition and roadmap to climb the pyramid in the next five years and compete at the top level. But this is about more than performance.
We’re here to redefine what a modern football club can be and stand for, and also be a purpose-led platform that not only accelerates the profile of the women’s game, but also acts as a force for social good, by empowering girls and women to sustainably break through barriers, on and off the pitch.
We’re not tied to tradition or governed by a men’s club - we’re proudly charting our own course, and we’re inviting the right people to join us on this purpose, people and performance-led journey to make football and wider sport, fairer, stronger, and more ambitious and sustainable for females everywhere.

Our Story
Nicole Allison’s creation of Worcester City Women FC is a powerful story of passion, purpose, and transformative leadership. Born and raised in Worcester, where opportunities for girls to play football were virtually non-existent, Nicole’s own childhood, marked by playing in boys’ teams and being told “you’re not allowed to play football”, ignited her drive to spark lasting change.
Her journey into professional sport saw her complete an MSc in Football Business, work with the English Football League, and rise to General Manager at Tottenham Hotspur Women. Yet, she returned to her hometown determined to write a different narrative: that young women in Worcester could have professional-level pathways and be true leaders in football.
In 2021, Nicole founded the fully independent, female‑owned Worcester City Women FC Ltd and built a sustainable club, staffed by volunteers and committed partners. Her vision centred on grassroots development, community engagement, and a self‑sustaining financial model that didn’t rely on men’s football budgets.
In 2023/24 WCWFC won their league securing promotion into Tier 4 of the FA Women’s National League. Nicole’s and her team’s unwavering commitment, shown in the club’s tagline RISE (Respect, Inspiring, Successful, Exceptional), makes Worcester City Women more than a club. It’s a beacon of opportunity and belief, proving that women can own, lead, play, and transform the game.
