WCWFC PERFORMANCE SQUAD

The Performance Squad replaces the club’s existing U18 and Reserve structures with a unified development programme for talented players aged 16–21 from across Worcestershire and the surrounding regions. Operating across two teams, it provides a clear and ambitious pathway into senior football, with the ultimate goal of progressing players into the club’s FA Women’s National League First Team.

Katie Heath and Emma Collins have both been part of Worcester City Women FC for the past five years and lead the club's Performance Squad as Head Coaches of the U21s and U18s respectively. Having previously represented the club as players, both have successfully transitioned into coaching roles and are now integral to the club's player development pathway.

Emma holds a UEFA B Licence, while Katie is UEFA C qualified. Supported by a team of experienced and dedicated coaches, they provide a high-quality coaching environment focused on developing players and preparing them for the demands of senior football.

The Performance Squad will comprise approximately 28 players and has been designed to maximise contact time, enhance individual player development through regular review processes, increase competitive playing opportunities, and provide consistent exposure to higher-level football environments.

The new structure forms part of Worcester City Women FC's long-term vision to continue progressing through the women's football pyramid while ensuring talented young female players from across Worcestershire and the surrounding region can access a high-performance development pathway without needing to leave the area.

The new Performance Squad will provide a more structured, challenging and elite environment than traditional grassroots football, reflecting the club’s ambitions to develop high-performing players capable of progressing through the women’s football pyramid.
