It’s a return to league action, as The Royals visit Sixways

This Sunday, City host Sutton Coldfield Town in FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands as City look to get off the mark following back to back league defeats.

Sutton Coldfield Town are managed by Harry Roe and play their home games at The Domino’s Arena. In the past three seasons, the Royals have finished 7th, 8th and 10th in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands table.

Previous meetings

The first meeting last season was back in August 2025, as City’s home campaign got underway at Sixways, which saw Worcester come away 1-0 winners, with skipper Jess Fassnidge’s 38th-minute strike to ensure City got the three points.

The reverse fixture took place in City’s opening game of the year in January, as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Dominos Arena.

The Royals took the lead against the run of play just after the half-hour mark following a Chloe Dann strike; however, City pegged the hosts back after a Kaye Haggett corner in the 63rd minute went straight in and ensured City went back to Worcester with a hard-fought point.

Worcester City Women found themselves in FA Women’s National League Cup Group C against their local rivals Kidderminster Harriers at Sixways on Wednesday evening where despite a better performance fell to a 1-0 defeat.

The Royals, however, travelled to Boldmere St Michaels on Thursday evening in their FA Women’s National League Cup Group M fixture.

They found themselves 2-0 down inside twelve minutes, but five minutes later the referee stopped the game due the adverse weather conditions and the match was abandoned.
