City are looking to bounce back following defeat last time out as Posh visit Sixways

Last season, Peterborough finished third in the table, accumulating 51 points, winning 16 games, drawing 3, and losing 7.

They also finished 3rd in the previous season (2023-24), accumulating 47 points, and in the 2022-23 season, they finished in 4th place with 39 points.

Previous meetings

City met Peterborough three times last season, firstly when the two sides met on opening day in a historic occasion for everybody connected to Worcester City Women.

Skipper Jessica Fassnidge scored City’s first-ever goal in the FA Women’s National League (FAWNL).

Unfortunately for City, Posh came away with a 4-1 win thanks to a double from Tara Kirk, and a goal a piece from Kier Perkins and Renai Bennett.

The two sides then met in the FA Women’s National League Cup First Round, but City succumbed to a 3-0 defeat, after goals from Niamh Connor, Emily Meli, and Renai Bennett at Deepings Rugby Union FC.

City last met Peterborough back in December as they travelled to the Motiq Stadium, where a resolute Worcester were only beaten by a 92nd-minute Megan Lawlor strike.

Last time out

City travelled to Boldmere after they returned to league action, but unfortunately, despite getting back on level terms just before the break, after Annie Highway lashed one into the roof of the net, City succumbed to a 3-1 defeat.

Meanwhile, Peterborough welcomed Sheffield to Pims Park and maintained their 100% start to the campaign, with a 2-0 win thanks to strikes from Kier Perkins and Evie Driscoll-King.
