Chesterfield

Chesterfield Women play their games at Debdale Park and Recreation Ground, which is the home of Sherwood Colliery FC and are managed by Pete Jarvis.

They gained promotion to the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands by clinching the East Midlands Regional Football League after pipping promotion rivals Loughborough Foxes Vixens Women by a solitary point.

They registered 12 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat on their way to be crowned champions.

Last time out

City’s Women’s FA Cup was ended prematurely at the Third Round Qualifying Round stage as Port Vale Women came away from Sixways with a 2-1 win.

Worcester, despite starting brightly found themselves 1-0 at the break after the attacker found herself in space behind the back line and struck an unstoppable shot that nestled into the top corner of the net.

City were back in the cup tie two minutes into the second half when Jess Fassnidge dispatched a spot kick with authority into the bottom left hand corner, after Mads Welham was brought down.

The visitors retook the lead just after the hour mark when a shot from distance hit off the underside of the bar and fell to the strikers feet who placed the ball into the net to send City’s FA Cup campaign.

Chesterfield’s fortunes in this seasons competition fared better than City’s as they beat Thurmaston DPC 10-0 at home to advance to the First Round Proper.
