City make their second trip of 2026 as they head to The O’Riordan Bond Stadium to face Northampton Town in FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands action.

The match was scheduled to take place last month; however, with just minutes before kick-off, the match officials postponed the fixture to the frustration of both clubs.

Last time out

City travelled to The Dominos Arena to face Sutton Coldfield Town in FA Women’s National League Division One action and played out a 1-1 draw.

The Royals took the lead against the run of play just after the half-hour mark following a Chloe Dann strike; however, City pegged the hosts back after a Kaye Haggett corner in the 63rd minute went straight in and ensured City went back to Worcester with a hard-fought point.

Northampton, meanwhile, haven’t been in action for over a month since they travelled to Barnsley and left with the three points following a 1-0 win in Yorkshire, thanks to a 53rd-minute strike by Hannah Samuels.

This season

Following City’s draw on Sunday at Sutton Coldfield Town, the result meant that they stay in 6th position in the table, on 17 points and four points above 7th place Notts County, having played the same amount of games.

Northampton Town currently sit in 11th place in the table, but have only played ten games, and with a positive result, could be out of the relegation zone as they go into this weekend’s round of fixtures just a point behind Kidderminster Harriers, who have played a game more.

Previous meeting

Back in August 2024, City were beaten 4-2 at the O’Riordan Bond Stadium, with defender Cerys Dolloway and former striker Olivia Mitcham on the scoresheet for Worcester.

Northampton completed the league double over City back in December 2024, with a 74th-minute Jade Bell goal proving to be the difference between the two sides at Sixways.
