It’s a trip to Gloucestershire in matchday two of the FA Women’s National League Cup Group phase

On Sunday, Worcester City Women find themselves back on the road as they travel to take on Tier 3 outfit, Cheltenham Town Women in picturesque, Bishops Cleeve where their second match in Group C takes place as the FA Women’s National League Cup heats up.

City will have their tails up following last Sunday’s 3-0 win over Sutton Coldfield Town Women at Sixways. Nyah Edwards, Jess Fassnidge and Evie Billingsley were the goal scorers as Worcester secured their first points of the season.

Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham Town Women play their home games at Kayte Lane, Bishops Cleeve and are managed by Tom Davies. The Robins currently participate in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, where they secured an 8th place in 2025/2026 season.

Last time out in the FA Women’s National League Cup

Sixways, hosted City’s opening round group stage fixture of the FA Women’s National League Cup under the lights against their local rivals Kidderminster Harriers, where despite a better performance fell to a 1-0 defeat in Group C.

Meanwhile, Cheltenham hosted Gwalia United in the other Group C contest as both clubs took the share of the spoils at Kayte Lane following a 1-1 draw.

Previous meeting

In August 2025, two clubs met in the opening group game fixture of the FA Women’s National League Cup at Kayte Lane with City unfortunately on the wrong end of a. 2-0 score line despite a solid display throughout the ninety minutes from Matt Jones’ side.

I really enjoy the positive environment that the girls and the staff have created. I also admire the ambition of the club and the goals they are pushing to achieve.

Winning the FA Women’s National League

What are you most excited for ahead of the 26/27 season?

I’m really excited to see what we can achieve and hopefully use my experience along the way and enjoy playing football again.
