Port Vale Women play their home games at The Emery’s Stadium and are managed by Garry Pearce. In the 2024/2025 season, Port Vale finished in 6th position and accumulated 30 points.
Previous meeting
The two sided last met in October 2025 a round earlier in the First Round Proper of the Women’s FA Cup at the Emery’s Stadium as City advanced to the Second Round Proper after securing a late winner in the Potteries.
City started the game on the front foot, but a resolute Port Vale kept City at bay, but the hosts saw themselves down to ten players after their goalkeeper was sent off after bringing down Maia Clark as she only had the goal to beat.
Ten minutes later, City took a deserved lead when a Kaye Haggett corner was headed home by Nyah Edwards to score her second goal in a week.
Just before the hour mark, Port Vale were on level terms after a long-range effort flew past Jodie Whiteman in the City net as the ten players were taking the game to Worcester, who were struggling to get a foothold in the game.
Game changer Jasmin Springer ensured City’s passage to the next round in dramatic fashion, as she calmly slotted home after a fantastic through ball by Haggett, who ensured her second assist of the game.

Matt Jones shared his reaction following last Sundays goal fest at Sixways
“Whilst we had the occasional moment in the first half where by we threatened, they were few and far between as we failed to get on top of 1v1 duals.
The second half changes we made enabled us to take the game to Gwalia, to which we very nearly pulled off an almighty comeback”
