League Cup Semi-Final: Kidderminster Harriers P-P WCWFC


Worcester City Women's League Cup semi-final match against Kidderminster was postponed at half-time due to an injury to a Kidderminster player.


The first half that was played was a close encounter with both teams creating chances but it was City who scored first after Georgia Marrett squared the ball across the box to Olivia Mitcham who couldn't miss from a few yards out.


Just before the half-time whistle was due, a Kidderminster player suffered a serious injury which led to a lengthy stoppage before everyone concerned decided the game should be postponed.


Everyone at WCWFC would like to wish the Kidderminster player all the best and a speedy recovery.


Updates on the replayed semi-final fixture will be announced in due course.


City play under the lights on Wednesday as they welcome Redditch United to Claines Lane in a 7:45pm kick off. Get your tickets for the game below.




WCWFC Development 0-2 Leamington Lions


Both sides started the game well with chances at either end and some great possession football. However a ball over the top caught Worcester out and gave Leamington the lead.


Towards the end of the first half, Worcester moved the ball across the back line well and engaged the wingers high up the pitch but failed to test the keeper.


Leamington doubled the lead just before half time.


Worcester went out in the second half with great energy but struggled to find themselves chances in the final third.


The Development team now have a lengthy break until their next league fixture when they host Sedgley & Gornal on Sunday 21st May.
