Worcester City Women Matchday Round Up 12/03/23

WCWFC Development 4-0 Droitwich Spa

Worcester City Women Development stormed past Droitwich Spa 4-0 at Claines Lane to maintain their unbeaten home record.

A goal inside the opening four-minutes gave City the lead after Caitlin Ford headed past the keeper from a cross (4’).

Droitwich almost replied, warning City goalkeeper Sofia Stolt, as they thundered an effort at the post (16’).

Stolt was forced into action mid-way in the first period with a save from close-range as well as a comfortable stop from a set-piece.

City grabbed a foothold of the match after Tinny Conway attempted an audacious strike from distance that saw only the top corner, leaving the keeper dumbfounded (31’).

Freya Harrad came off the substitutes bench to add a third moments before half-time (41) and Mia Badland added salt to the wounds with a looping effort (52’).

Badland and Elspeth Hill both came close to adding a fifth after chances from six yards out.

An emphatic win sees City continue their unbeaten home run in the league.

The first team will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to top of the league Sutton Coldfield. The Development team will host Rugby Town at Claines Lane.
