Stourbridge Women 10 - 0 Worcester City Women

March 31, 2022

It was a tough evening for the City Women on Wednesday night against a ruthless and clinical Stourbridge team.

Last minute injuries meant the team travelled to the league’s meanest defence and deadliest attack with multiple changes and a smaller squad than anticipated, which undoubtedly played its part in the nature of the defeat.

The commitment and effort levels of the team were exemplary, with the City defence throwing themselves at everything and didn’t stop working until the final whistle.

Defender Shona Baldwin said after the match ‘despite the result, no one got on each other’s backs, we built each other back up and pushed on to the final whistle. We are starting to live up to #LaFamilia, and it’s going to make us so much better as a team and club. Exciting things are ahead, whilst the scoreline was devastating we’re ready to bounce back and we stick together’.

Thanks to our travelling fans for all the support! We will go again on 10th April, away at Lye Town.
