Goals galore at Claines saw Marrett smash a hat-trick past Solihull in a convincing win.
Marrett’s three goals helped Worcester with a dominating display at home, netting six in-front of a great home support.
Matt said: “G’ was excellent; movement was good and when she’s one-on-one, we're always confident she’ll finish it off”.
An entertaining opening 10 minutes saw multiple chances for City to take the lead, Rogers struck the post early doors with a darting run down the wing before captain Fassnidge and then Higgs troubled the keeper.
The game balanced out nearing the break, with Solihull found small openings between the steady possession of Worcester. Rogers, who was a handful for the fullback in the opening half, again nearly broke the deadlock.
The goals did come though after Marrett’s strike was deflected in from the out-stretched foot of the defender.
Shortly after Mitcham doubled the lead, a coolly slotted effort from close range nestled into the goal. Solihull grabbed one back though through a quick counter down the flank.
The second half followed their first with a quick start for City, this time the Captain, Jess Fassnidge played a wonderful through ball onto Marrett who skips by the defender and easily beats the keeper.
Solihull battled back quick with a goal, their second of the game.
The goals just kept on coming, this time Ballard with a stunning long ranged strike that dumbfounded the keeper, looping over her head.
Worcester wasn’t done yet, Marrett grabbed her second of the game, another great through ball saw her one-on-one, the Solihull keeper rushed out as she chipped over her head into an open goal.
Marrett finished off the hat trick with a strong strike, much to the delight of players, coach and fans alike.
Marrett said: “Felt really good, I’m hoping to keep going and carry on”.
Worcester closed out the game well, controlling possession and using the width well.
City's first team are away in the league on Sunday against Lichfield City in a 2pm kick off. Our Development team will be hosting Bewdley Town at Claines Lane in a 2:30pm kick off.
