Against The Odds partners with Worcester City Women FC in Safer Gambling project

Against The Odds and WCWFC are delighted to announce a Safer Gambling Partnership for the 23/24 season. The relationship between both organisations will see ATO not only deliver educational presentations throughout the season across the clubs 3 teams but also offer 1:1 support for any club members who may be seeking guidance or advice on their own gambling.

ATO Founder, Aaron Abbott said: “We are really excited to build on our first partnership within female sport and it's a really exciting time for the business. While gambling addicts are disproportionately male, the number of women seeking treatment has doubled in the past five years. According to a previous GambleAware study, 1 million women are now deemed to be at risk of suffering gambling related harm in the UK”

WCWFC will raise awareness of gambling related harm and increase brand exposure throughout Worcestershire & surrounding areas. ATO will feature on the U18 playing kit and will also contribute an article towards the club's monthly newsletter.

WCWFC CEO, Nicole Alison said “The latest research from the Gambling Commission shows that more women are gambling now than ever before and found that more women are at risk of harm from gambling addiction. There is a widespread lack of awareness and lack of support for women and as part of our club’s commitment to our community we are delighted to partner with ATO to raise awareness and support our players, staff and wider community.“

WCWFC will be supporting Safer Gambling week in November.
