Kidderminster Harriers 3 - 1 Worcester City Women
It was a game of two halves at Coze on Sunday which unfortunately resulted in a disappointing 3-1 defeat to an experienced Kidderminster Harriers team.
Kidderminster took an early lead in the 6th minute, winning the ball from a City goal kick, and slotting it into the bottom right corner.
A great deal of pressure was put on City and 6-minutes later, Harriers extended their advantage with an in-swinging cross put into the box. Whitbury got a touch to it, but it wasn’t enough as the forward then headed into an empty net.
Kidderminster got their third on the half-hour mark, with a looping header over Whitbury.
Worcester came out with a much-improved second half as chances started to come their way. D’oyen Fitchett slipped a through ball to Mulcock, who was making her debut, but the shot was driven wide.
With just a quarter of the game left, Collins took matters into her own hands, with some brilliant hold up play, before curling an effort into the top right corner, with the keeper standing no chance.
Despite the young City team having the better second half, Harriers walked away with all three points.
Worcester finally make their home return this Sunday against Tamworth, at 2.30pm. Buy your tickets here.
We hope to see you there!
